CARLOS GONZALEZ OJEDA

ESP

Carlos is a swimmer from Spain, a sprinter and an international traveller on the circuit, whose official competitive record spans 10 seasons, 11 years, 3 countries and 44 meets.

His recorded career begins in 2009, and one of his earliest marks still on file is the 400 individual medley in 6:07.92, raced in Pleasant Prairie. He started out alongside Mundelein Mustang Swim Club.

His signature event is the 100 breaststroke, the event he has raced the most, followed by the 50 breaststroke and 50 freestyle. Breaststroke is the backbone of the whole record: 33 meets and 36 recorded swims.

His fastest 100 breaststroke stands at 1:33.76, set in long course (50 m) at WI MMSC Bring on the Heat.

His record includes national championships, in 2019 (National Black Heritage Championship Swim Meet). A representative mark at that level is 30.49 in the 50 freestyle, recorded in short course yards (25 yd).

After a 2-year break between 2010 and 2012, he came back to racing and the record picks up again in 2012. 2019 is the busiest season on record, with 26 verified individual swims.

He is a genuinely international swimmer: the official record spans 3 countries (the United States, Spain and UNK), including 34 of 44 meets outside Spain.

Those meets span 15 different venues (St Petersburg, St. Petersburg, Pleasant Prairie and Cary…). He has raced for 8 clubs, led by Mundelein Mustang Swim Club, Atlantis Swimming Club, Carmel Catholic High School and Shorecrest Prep Academy.

Latest competition: FG NMST Dade County Sprint Championships in Miami, on December 7, 2019, with 3 swims: 1:08.69 in the 50 breaststroke, 55.21 in the 50 backstroke and 2:09.21 in the 100 individual medley, all in short course yards (25 yd). He closes this record with 28 current event personal bests and 68 all-time PB improvements, across 112 verified official swims in competitions governed by RFEN.
