DAVID HUERTAS IGLESIAS

ESP

David is a swimmer from Spain, a sprinter and an international traveller on the circuit, whose official competitive record spans 21 seasons, 23 years, 3 countries and 149 meets.

His recorded career begins in 2004, and one of his earliest marks still on file is the 400 individual medley in 4:57.18, raced in Barcelona. He started out alongside C.N. SAN GREGORIO.

His signature event is the 50 backstroke, the event he has raced the most, followed by the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Backstroke is where his specialisation lies (99 meets), while freestyle appears in more meets (121 meets and 428 recorded swims spread across 7 different distances) because he races it across the full distance range rather than as a main event.

His fastest 50 backstroke stands at 28.82, set in long course (50 m) at Logroño.

After a 3-year break between 2015 and 2018, he came back to racing and the record picks up again in 2018. 2006 is the busiest season on record, with 126 verified individual swims.

He is a genuinely international swimmer: the official record spans 3 countries (Spain, Italy and Poland), including 3 of 149 meets outside Spain.

Those meets span 16 different venues (Zaragoza, Madrid, Oviedo and Logroño…). He has raced for 7 clubs, led by C.D. JEREZ NATACION MASTER, C.D. TOLEDO MONTEVERDE, C. TENIS CHAMARTIN and STADIUM CASABLANCA.

Still active: the directory includes official activity in the 2026 season. The last race on record is dated July 5, 2026 in Logroño. He holds 33 current event personal bests and 204 all-time PB improvements across 772 verified official swims in competitions governed by RFEN.
