GERARD PUJOL HERNANDEZ

Club Natación Sitges · ESP

Gerard is a swimmer from Spain, a collegiate competitor and an international traveller on the circuit, whose official competitive record spans 15 seasons, 18 years, 4 countries and 121 meets.

His recorded career begins in 2005 in B_trofeu Olot, where he raced the 25 freestyle in 22.61. He started out alongside C.N. VIC-ETB.

His signature event is the 200 breaststroke, his reference distance in breaststroke, ahead of the 100 breaststroke and 50 breaststroke. Breaststroke is the backbone of the whole record: 64 meets and 126 recorded swims.

In long course (50 m), he went from 2:55.24 in 2011 to a best of 2:36.75 in 2016 (Hospitalet de Llobregat): 18.49 seconds gained in the 200 breaststroke.

His record includes national championships, between 2015 and 2017 (Spanish Summer Nationals 2015 and GLVC Time Trials). A representative mark at that level is 1:44.80 in the 200 freestyle, recorded in short course yards (25 yd). He also appears in collegiate championships.

After a 4-year break between 2005 and 2009, he came back to racing and the record picks up again in 2009.

He is a genuinely international swimmer: the official record spans 4 countries (Spain, the United States, the Netherlands and UNK), including 30 of 121 meets outside Spain.

Those meets span 35 different venues (Sitges, St. Louis, Igualada and Barcelona…). He has raced for University of Missouri-St. Louis, A.S.Z.V. Spons, C.N. VIC-ETB and C.N. SITGES.

His most recent recorded season is 2022. He closes this record with 49 current event personal bests and 215 all-time PB improvements, across 484 verified official swims in competitions governed by RFEN and NCAA.
