Ignacio is a swimmer from Spain, a backstroke specialist and an international traveller on the circuit, whose official competitive record spans 11 seasons, 2 countries and 112 meets.
His recorded career begins in 2016, and one of his earliest marks still on file is the 50 breaststroke in 49.29, raced in Mairena del Aljarafe. He started out alongside C.N.MAIRENA ALJARAFE.
His signature event is the 100 backstroke, the event he has raced the most, followed by the 200 backstroke and 50 backstroke. Backstroke is where his specialisation lies (72 meets), while freestyle appears in more meets (74 meets and 123 recorded swims spread across 8 different distances) because he races it across the full distance range rather than as a main event.
His fastest 100 backstroke stands at 59.06, set in long course (50 m) at Torremolinos.
The record runs unbroken from 2016 to 2026: 11 consecutive seasons without a single missing year. 2023 is the busiest season on record, with 58 verified individual swims.
He is a genuinely international swimmer: the official record spans 2 countries (Spain and UNK), including 5 of 112 meets outside Spain.
Those meets span 9 different venues (Sevilla, Málaga, Cádiz and Palma…). He has raced for C.N.MAIRENA ALJARAFE.
Still active: the directory includes official activity in the 2026 season. Latest competition: Malaga, on August 1, 2026. He holds 29 current event personal bests and 259 all-time PB improvements across 336 verified official swims in competitions governed by RFEN.
