Irene is a swimmer from Spain, a breaststroke specialist and an international traveller on the circuit, whose official competitive record spans 17 seasons, 22 years, 2 countries and 60 meets.
Her recorded career begins in 2005, and one of her earliest marks still on file is the 50 backstroke in 46.33, raced in Málaga.
Her signature event is the 50 breaststroke, her reference distance in breaststroke, ahead of the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke. Breaststroke is the backbone of the whole record: 47 meets and 107 recorded swims.
Her fastest 50 breaststroke stands at 39.70, set in long course (50 m) at Jerez.
After a 2-year break between 2023 and 2025, she came back to racing and the record picks up again in 2025.
She is a genuinely international swimmer: the official record spans 2 countries (Spain and the United Kingdom), including 1 of 60 meets outside Spain.
Those meets span 9 different venues (Cádiz, Málaga, Castellón and Palma…). She has raced for C.D. JEREZ NATACION MASTER, CLUB NATACION JEREZ and C.N. PORTUENSE.
Still active: the directory includes official activity in the 2026 season. Her most recent recorded season is 2026. She holds 30 current event personal bests and 92 all-time PB improvements across 202 verified official swims in competitions governed by RFEN.
