MARIA GARCIA HERRERO

ESP

Maria is a swimmer from Spain, an Olympian and a sprinter, whose official competitive record spans 11 seasons, 13 years, 11 countries and 41 meets.

Her recorded career begins in 2014 in 14 Texas Region Championships - 8-4a, where she raced the 50 freestyle in 34.03.

Her signature event is the 100 freestyle, her reference distance in freestyle, ahead of the 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle. Freestyle is the backbone of the whole record: 37 meets and 98 recorded swims.

Her fastest 100 freestyle stands at 54.01, set in long course (50 m) at the 2026 Campeonato de España Absoluto Open & Junior (50m).

She has raced at the Olympic Games level, in 2022 (European Youth Olympic Festival 2022). A representative mark at that level is 9:14.43 in the 800 freestyle, recorded in long course (50 m). She also appears in national championships and international meets.

After a 3-year break between 2018 and 2021, she came back to racing and the record picks up again in 2021.

She is a genuinely international swimmer: the official record spans 11 countries (Spain, the United States, France, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Hungary, Israel, Poland, Singapore, Serbia and Sweden), including 17 of 41 meets outside Spain.

Those meets span 13 different venues (Ned, Svk, Hun and Isr…). She has raced for Queensborough Community College, Harmony Science High, Mission High School and C.N. TOLEDO.

Still active: the directory includes official activity in the 2026 season. Her most recent recorded season is 2026. She holds 19 current event personal bests and 57 all-time PB improvements across 126 verified official swims in competitions governed by RFEN and World Aquatics.
