PABLO MARTINEZ MARTINEZ

Club Natacion Don Benito Acuarun · ESP

Pablo is a swimmer from Spain, a distance freestyler and an international traveller on the circuit, whose official competitive record spans 12 seasons, 15 years, 3 countries and 33 meets.

His recorded career begins in 2012 in Valladolid, where he raced the 100 backstroke in 2:14.91. He started out alongside Barracuda Aquatics Team.

His signature event is the 200 freestyle, his reference distance in freestyle, ahead of the 400 freestyle and 1500 freestyle. Freestyle is the backbone of the whole record: 22 meets and 54 recorded swims.

In long course (50 m), he went from 1:54.76 in 2024 to a best of 1:50.43 in 2025 (Spanish Spring Open Championships): 4.33 seconds gained in the 200 freestyle.

His record includes continental championships, between 2024 and 2025 (European Junior Swimming Championships and 2025 European Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships (50m)). A representative mark at that level is 1:51.10 in the 200 freestyle, recorded in long course (50 m). He also appears in national championships and international meets.

After a 3-year break between 2017 and 2020, he came back to racing and the record picks up again in 2020.

He is a genuinely international swimmer: the official record spans 3 countries (Spain, UNK and Lithuania), including 9 of 33 meets outside Spain.

Those meets span 14 different venues (Valladolid, León, Palma and El Paso…). He has raced for 8 clubs, led by Club Natacion Don Benito Acuarun, Club Natacion Valdepeñas, Barracuda Aquatics Team and Carroll High School (TX).

Still active: the directory includes official activity in the 2026 season. The last race on record is dated May 9, 2026. He holds 43 current event personal bests and 58 all-time PB improvements across 82 verified official swims in competitions governed by RFEN, World Aquatics and European Aquatics.
