Ruben is a swimmer from Spain whose official competitive record spans 9 seasons and 71 meets.
His recorded career begins in 2017, and one of his earliest marks still on file is the 100 breaststroke in 1:32.65, raced in Oviedo. He started out alongside C.N.CIUDAD DE OVIEDO.
His signature event is the 100 backstroke, the event he has raced the most, followed by the 50 backstroke and 100 freestyle. Backstroke is where his specialisation lies (38 meets), while freestyle appears in more meets (43 meets and 52 recorded swims spread across 6 different distances) because he races it across the full distance range rather than as a main event.
His fastest 100 backstroke stands at 1:04.54, set in long course (50 m) at Gijón.
The record runs unbroken from 2017 to 2025: 9 consecutive seasons without a single missing year. 2023 is the busiest season on record, with 41 verified individual swims.
Those meets span 3 different venues (Gijón, Oviedo and Sabadell). He has raced for Club Natación Santa Olaya, C.N.CIUDAD DE OVIEDO and C.N. ASTUROVI.
The last race on record is dated June 29, 2025 in Gijón, with 1 swim: 59.73 in the 100 freestyle, all in long course (50 m) and 1 PB improvement. He closes this record with 30 current event personal bests and 197 all-time PB improvements, across 164 verified official swims in competitions governed by RFEN.
