Sofia is a swimmer from Spain, an international traveller on the circuit, whose official competitive record spans 14 seasons, 15 years, 2 countries and 89 meets.
Her recorded career begins in 2012, and one of her earliest marks still on file is the 50 breaststroke in 1:05.20, raced in Zaragoza (c).
Her signature event is the 100 freestyle, her reference distance in freestyle, ahead of the 200 freestyle and 50 freestyle. Freestyle is the backbone of the whole record: 68 meets and 114 recorded swims.
Her fastest 100 freestyle stands at 1:13.86, set in long course (50 m) at the 2022 SD NA Augustana Spring Splash.
After a 2-year break between 2019 and 2021, she came back to racing and the record picks up again in 2021.
She is a genuinely international swimmer: the official record spans 2 countries (Spain and the United States), including 37 of 89 meets outside Spain.
Those meets span 14 different venues (Lincoln, Fremont, Albuquerque and Sioux Falls…). She has raced for 7 clubs, led by Nebraska Aquatics, Menlo Aquatics, Foster Park Killer Whales and Lincoln East High School.
